Elderflower, fresh blueberry, Earl Grey
This is the kind of coffee that immediately caught our attention for how delicate, bright, and incredibly clean it tastes.
Grown in Gerse, Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, this microlot comes from small producers growing heirloom coffee varieties. Yirgacheffe is known for coffees with beautiful floral aromatics and tea-like qualities, and this lot is such a lovely expression of that character.
The coffee is washed processed, which gives the cup a beautiful clarity and lets its more delicate flavors come through. Instead of heavy fruit or fermentation, this coffee feels light, fresh, and elegant.
In the cup, the first thing we notice is fresh blueberry, sweet and juicy rather than jammy. As it cools, a soft elderflower aroma opens up followed by juicy fresh blueberry and a tea-like Earl Grey finish with a subtle tangy aftertaste.
What we love most about this coffee is how quietly expressive it is. There is nothing loud or overwhelming about it. Every sip feels clean and layered, and the flavors become more noticeable as the coffee cools.
If you enjoy coffees that are bright, floral, tea-like, and full of clarity, this is one we think you will really love.
