White Peach, Maple Syrup, Jasmine
Meet Juan Martín, a beautiful Gesha coffee from the mountains of Cauca, Colombia. This one is delicate, floral, and wonderfully sweet. It's the kind of coffee that makes you stop for a moment and think, "Wait, is this really coffee?"
Gesha is a special coffee variety known for its beautiful floral aromas, elegant sweetness, and tea-like character. It's often considered one of the most exciting varieties in specialty coffee, and Juan Martín is a lovely example of why people fall in love with it.
Grown at 2,050 meters above sea level in Sotará, Cauca, this coffee comes from Finca Juan Martín, an experimental farm operated by Banexport. The team here is passionate about understanding how different coffee varieties grow and how careful harvesting and processing can bring out their best flavors. Every step, from picking ripe cherries to drying the coffee, is handled with attention and care.
This Gesha goes through a washed process, helping preserve its delicate floral character and clean, refreshing taste. Rather than relying on intense fermentation flavors, this coffee lets the natural beauty of the Gesha variety shine.
The first thing you'll notice is a soft, lovely jasmine aroma. Then comes the gentle sweetness of white peach, juicy and delicate without being too sharp. As the coffee cools, a comforting maple syrup sweetness begins to appear, giving the cup a smooth, sweet finish.
What we love most about this coffee is how gentle and elegant it feels. It's not bold or heavy, and it doesn't need to be. Every sip is light, fragrant, and full of little surprises. It almost reminds us of drinking a beautiful floral tea, only with the sweetness and complexity of a really special coffee.
We highly recommend enjoying Juan Martín as a pour over, preferably without milk, so you can appreciate all those delicate flavors. Take your time drinking it, and let it cool a little. You may discover something new with every sip.
If you've never tried a Gesha before, this is a wonderful introduction. And if you already love Gesha, we think you'll appreciate just how sweet, clean, and beautifully floral this one can be.
Sometimes the most memorable coffees aren't the loudest ones. They're the ones that make you slow down and enjoy every little sip.
